Scotts 3 - 1 Stubben

It was a sunny day at the stadium today. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. Starters: Franson - Bendomora, Gestido, Chow - Rudder, Bertos, Rogers, Paringatai, Karaplis - Kakouras, Boyton.

The following players took the field: Voittonen - Mossbeck, Amelunxen, Sundnes - Paulsson, Kristensen, Mortensen, Solhaug, Neruda - Nilsson, Bettio.

As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Scotts displayed their formidable ability to play creatively. After 9 minutes, Scotts were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. Argirios Kakouras did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Filip Nilsson's lightning pace was too much for Garrett Chow who could only look on as the Stubben player blasted one home. 0 - 1. Kostas Karaplis showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 16 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Steele Rudder was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Scotts's Vincent Bertos managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 2 - 1 Scotts put in a good effort on the right, but Argirios Kakouras saw his volley fly wide of the mark 31 minutes into the game. 34 minutes in, Scotts's Argirios Kakouras received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 36 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Argirios Kakouras gave the Scotts supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1. Scotts's Harry Rogers had an excellent opportunity after 38 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! Stubben's Bjørn Solhaug was shown a yellow card after 40 minutes for slicing down an opponent. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Scotts enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Stubben's Filip Nilsson was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 50 minutes. Nicolás Marcos Aranda was given a chance to change things around. Simone Bettio was the new captain of Stubben - handed the armband by the departing player. After 50 minutes, Stubben used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. 50 minutes into the game, Scotts seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a solid level of organisation. After 56 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Scotts was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. 57 minutes into the game, Scotts had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. Scotts had a magnificent opportunity after 61 minutes as Vincent Bertos hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. The crowd roared its approval when Zac Franson somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Stubben's Ludvig Mossbeck 71 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! After 89 minutes, Argirios Kakouras showed no mercy as he ran straight at the Stubben playmaker, mowing him down. He could stay on his feet himself, but only managed a feeble shot that didn't trouble the keeper at all. The match ends 3 - 1. Scotts had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

Scotts's top performer was clearly Jordan Boyton. However, Bruno Gestido made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Stubben player was without a doubt Hagen Amelunxen. Jone Voittonen turned in a dismal performance, however.
